Key Concepts & Terms

 

Account

Accounts represent the organization or service that connects the requesters/schedulers to services to suppliers.

Appointment Type

Each service is assigned a type (project vs. appointment type). An appointment type has a different format for the date. It asks for location and other field types. Generally an appointment type is an interpretation project or any project with a deadline.

Categories

Categories are set up by the account. They can be used to track meeting types or whatever the account managers set up.

Direct Message

Users can send a direct message to the Scheduler team and/or Requester team. Messages will only be viewable by the attached participants.

Linguist

A linguist is a supplier who can review, accept, or decline project requests.

My Connections

A list of suppliers connected with the account. Requesters and Schedulers will be able to view profiles for anyone with whom they’re connected.

My Conversations

My conversations are direct messages, file deliveries, or any project or non-project related correspondence.

Participants

Participants are Schedulers and Requesters who are assigned to projects. All participants will receive email notifications and other updates.

Project Information Page

This page shows the Project Details, including Project Information, Messaging, Status, Participants and Project Items.

Project Items

These are specific jobs that are under “Services” that are connected with the specific language that will be supported.

For example, the service might be “Translation” and the Project Item would be connected to “Spanish”.

Project Status

Each request in LinguistLink will have a status assigned. There are two types of statuses in the system 1- Action Status 2- Fixed Status.

Action Status

The following shows the actions that are related to specific statuses. Email notifications will be sent for each change in status.

Project Type

Quick Search

Quick Search works like a search engine. Type in project number or keyword and the projects will filter accordingly.

Requesters

Users who request projects and appointments through LinguistLink. There are two types of requesters n the system:

Schedulers

Schedulers are account admins who can review and approve appointment and project requests. They also manage the supplier team, including proposing projects directly to suppliers.

Services

Services are the specific activity that will be completed by the linguist suppliers. For example, services might include translation or interpretation.
